Glaucoma is characterized by optic nerve damage.The optic nerve damage is related to the IOP
caused by congestion of aqueous humor in the eye.There is a range of pressure that have been
considered"normal"but that may be associated with vision loss in some patients.Glaucoma is one
of the leading causes of irreversible blindness in the world
The risk factors for glaucoma are
-family history of glaucoma
-african-american race
-older age i.e older than 40years
-diabets mellitus
-cardiovascular disease
-migraine syndromes
-nearsightedness
-eye trauma
